Job Description

• The Mining Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all mining operations at the site, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and technical skills to coordinate with various departments and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise all mining activities, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
• Develop and implement mining plans to achieve production targets and meet quality standards.
• Monitor and control costs, including labor, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimized operations.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among all employees.
• Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to improve mining efficiency and resolve operational issues.
• Train and mentor mining staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Conduct regular inspections of the mining site to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
• Prepare reports on production performance, safety incidents, and operational improvements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize mining processes and increase productivity.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mining Engineering or related field.
• Open Cast Blasting Certificate
• Minimum 8 years' experience in an open pit mining environment
• At least 4 years' experience holding a 2.6.1 appointment
• Strong technical knowledge of mining processes, equipment, and regulations.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proven track record of meeting production targets and maintaining safety standards.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Valid driver's license.
