Medical Gas Technician at Air Liquide

• Conduct planned maintenance on customer equipment (Preventative Maintenance)
• Respond to breakdowns and conduct repairs at customer sites (corrective maintenance)
• Perform assigned periodic inspections on customer installations and report any defects to the his/ her Manager
• Participate in the repair process of the reported defects
• Liaise with the Manager, Air Liquide Warehouse and suppliers in the sourcing of spares and machinery.
• Assist with the planning, organizing and coordination of new installations or modification of the existing installations
• Keep activity records and update all paperwork, planning, organizing and coordination of work at the customers
• Provide technical support to the customers and provide training as and when required
• Liaise with the Air Liquide Sales team on the ordering of medical gasses and opening of jobs
• Ensure statutory compliance of customer installations as per the applicable regulatory standards
• Housekeeping and upkeep of installed equipment, legal compliance and adherence to company regulations and standards, reporting and record keeping. 
• Clearly record all maintenance related work on CMMS. Ensure all customers are captured and tracked on CMMS and keep services up to date.
• Refurbish workshop compressors and vacuum for emergency use.
• Ensure that critical spares are always available 
• Ensure that the provided company tools of trade are looked well after, maintained and cleaned at all times.
• Ensure that you are well presentable in front of the customer.
• Help in training apprentices
• Basic electrical and electronics/PLC understanding

Educational requirements 

• Education: Matric (Senior Certificate) 
• Technical qualification (Mechanical or Electrical or Instrumentation or Millwright - Strength mechanical) 
• Qualified Artisan
• Registration with SAQCC for medical gasses installation and maintenance (Advantageous)

Experience 

• Experience in medical gas or related industry
