    Media Research Specialist / Librarian (Part-Time)

    Duties (not an exhaustive list):

    • Develop a passion and love for reading among the boys
    • Managing and implementing schoolwide reading programs
    • Manage all library functions (sourcing, cataloguing, distribution of materials, etc.)
    • Guide boys’ reading according to individual interests and abilities
    • Support the boys' learning by the facilitation of research, prompting inquiry and inspiring reading
    • Create a culture and an environment, in which reading is valued, supported, and encouraged
    • Plan and co-ordinate ‘Book Week’, set up Book Displays and creative displays to encourage reading
    • Create a library environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of students.
    • Recommend budget for the library
    • Promotion of the St Peter's Prep Schools attributes and values
    • Teach according to the St Peter's Prep Schools Best Practice pedagogy
    • The working hours will be from 07:15 – 13:00, Monday - Friday

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • 3 years of library experience
    • Excellent command of the English language
    • MS-Office proficient
    • SACE Registered

    • Creative problem-solving skills
    • A willingness to support and mentor and to be mentored
    • A values-based approach to teaching
    • The flexibility, ability, and willingness to work outside school hours, when necessary
    • The intention to work according to the school’s ethos, specifications, and policies
    • A willingness to work as part of a team and team teach if required
