Mechanical Assistant - XTRFL004 at City of Ekurhuleni

Minimum Requirements:

• South African Citizen
• N3 in Mechanical Engineering/Motor Mechanics
• Interpersonal and Communication skills
• Resident of City of Ekurhuleni (specify Ward). Proof of residence
• Young person 18 - 35 years, but men and women over 35 years will be considered
• Ability to communicate with communities.
• Ability to read and write
• Working knowledge of the languages and dynamics of the City

Core Responsibilities:

• Helps mechanic perform maintenance and repairs such as tune-ups and oil change, checks tire and brakes, replaces spark plugs and engages in other similar tasks
• Assists mechanic with electrical systems such as replacing batteries, starters, and light.
• Cleans the workshop and returns tools to proper location.
• Maintains inventory of replacement parts and equipment.
• Inspects tools and equipment to ensure they are in working order.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Updates maintenance and repair log sheet for vehicles.
