Manager (Technical Services) at eThekwini Municipality

Job Purpose    

• To perform various tasks associated with managing,coordinating and supervising the activities of the Technical Services Section of the Support Service Division.

Key Responsibility Areas    

• Prepares and maintains a capital vehicle and equipment replacement schedule.
• Co-ordinates the development,implementation and maintenance of service schedules and standards.
• Ensures the effective maintenance of departments buildings and facilities.
• Represents the department at Tender Board meetings.
• Assumes control and responsibility for efficient management of assets.
• Provides direction and establishes procedures.
• Develops,prepares and collates standard specifications.
• Assist in providing information to the Training section.
• Co-ordinates acceptance testing and recording of results.
• Prepares,drafts and submits reports and memorandums.
• Responsible for training,development,attendance and efficient utilization of staff.

Essential Requirements    

• Relevant 3 year tertiary qualification (Degree or Diploma)
• Valid motor vehicle drivers license (Code B).
• 4 Years relevant experience.

Special Conditions:

• Must be required to perform standby duties at major incidents.

Preferred Requirements    

• 6 Years relevant experience.
