Manager Public Transport Systems at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• Relevant Bachelor’s degree, preferable in Information Systems and or related Engineering Qualification
• A minimum of eight (8) years’ relevant experience
• Managing a complex public transport system and project of technical nature
• Excellent communication, report-writing and financial management skills
• Knowledge of local government legislation, policies and procedures
• A valid driver’s licence.

Key Performance Areas

• Lead, manage and oversee the activities and operations of Public Transport Systems Branch including Automated Fare Collection (AFC), Advanced Public Transport Management System (APTMS) and Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV)
• Strategically manage the architectural design process, installation, commissioning and servicing of the public transport systems
• Effectively manage and oversee implementation of Public Transport Systems projects, programmes and contracts ensuring compliance with relevant legislation
• Oversee, manage and implement the Annual Public Transport Tariff adjustments, MyConnect card product sales, new innovations and licensing agreements
• Oversee and monitor public transport systems maintenance and repairs
• Stakeholder relationship management
• Engaging with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at executive and senior level management
• Managing personnel performance, productivity and discipline
• Undertaking management reporting.
