    Manager - Product Development (Midrand)

    Job Description    

    As a Manager - Product Development, you will play a crucial role in conceptualising, developing, managing, and sustaining a cost-effective product innovation process. Your focus will be on international best practices and leading-edge technologies, ensuring profitable growth in alignment with our business strategy.

    Qualification Requirements    

    • Education - NHD Food technology/ B.Sc Food science/ B.Tech Food technology/B Consumer science or equivalent qualification.

    Experience Requirements    

    • Job experience - Minimum 5 - 7 years of product development experience.Minimum 3-5 years of innovation development and implementation experience. Experience in the chocolate and sugar confectionery business required.Experience in the milling /baking /confectionery/biscuit/breakfast/pasta/animal feed industry will be advantageous.

    Job Related Skills:

    • Formulation development skills.
    • Performance and stability testing skills.
    • Specification development skills.
    • NPD/R&D Project administration skills.
    • MS Office (intermediate level skills).
    • People management skills.

    Job Objectives:

    • Ensure new product development to meet innovation portfolio gaps.
    • Recruit, manage, and leverage supplier relationships.
    • Identify, manage, and execute continuous improvement projects related to the core business.
    • Ensure successful project execution, meeting business objectives on time, quality, and completeness.
    • Deliver high-quality products in line with national best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in the food industry.
    • Provide specialist advice to the business regarding new products, including formulations, technology, and compliance.
    • Ensure compliance with the Food Safety Standard (Applicable clauses from FSSC 22000) requirements and quality management (ISO:9001) system through the execution of relevant quality manual duties.
