    Manager: OTT Partnerships

    Mission/ Core purpose of the Job
    The OTT manager will be responsible for the delivery & implementation of Group OTT partner strategy and business portfolio, including partner operational management and execution of initiatives contributing to Group’s overall strategic goals to achieve profitable growth and continuously improved operational performance. Further the manager is responsible for delivering business objectives and manage all strategic partnerships which include our Simfy/PTH partnership for Ayoba. This role involves co-ordinating activities between the Simfy/PTH team and the Opcos and other business units as well as reaching an alignment on priorities and tasks being worked. The role involves gathering and processing Opco requirements, challenges and suggestions and working through them with the Simfy/PTH team on resolutions and providing feedback and a way forward with the Opcos. The Manager: OTT Partnerships reports to the Senior manager: OTT Partnerships.

    Key Deliverables

    The Manager: OTT partnerships will be accountable to achieve the following objectives:

    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Monitor products/services and initiatives launched into the market at Group and Opco level
    • Drive execution of the functional strategy
    • Provide reports and analysis to support and contribute to the development of the sub-functional digital strategy in line with the overarching business goals
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting to enable the regular review of the sub-functional strategy, roadmap and performance to ensure its alignment with the changing dynamics of the internal and external ecosystem
    • Plan the sub activities of the strategy focusing on partner service and platform launches by Opco’s and post launch performance management
    • Ensure effective implementation of sub-divisional activities by means of providing details, measurements, OpCo support, timeline management and tracking
    • Contribute to the development of programmes to take OTT digital products/services and ayoba initiatives to market across all Opcos

    Product development

    • Manage the development of the OTT portfolio by ensuring OTT partners are sourced and launched by Opcos
    • Manage the development of content and offerings within the ayoba environment by ensuring partners are sourced and initiatives are launched
    • Conduct research on various platforms to source the optimal OTT content and content for the ayoba proposition
    • Provide guidance for partners to ensure right content is sourced for the right markets
    • Assist partners in executing content aggregation
    • Assist to identify key offerings from other divisions for the ayoba proposition
    • Create and manage the content calendar and strategy that covers all related touch points
    • Manage collection of content from all stakeholders and content owners within MTN operations and ensure alignment to content calendar and strategy
    • Working with content owners to ensure that content is always relevant and up to date
    • Manage alignment and synergy of content across all touch points

    Go-to-Market

    • Support and contribute to develop clear, concise go-to-market strategies that drive new customer acquisition, effective service usage, cross-sell, and retention for the ayoba proposition and other OTT partnerships
    • Manage product/service or initiative launches and ensure they are correctly targeted to defined customer segments (i.e. may vary across geographies)
    • Update products and services information on advertisements, channels, FAQs, and on necessary POS materials for various sales channels and events
    • Develop with SM OTT Partnerships a playbook detailing the 4Ps that are critical to successful performance of the vertical
    • Products and services – platforms, stand-alone, micro-apps and channels within the ayoba environment
    • Pricing for services – subscription fee, data & subscription packages, freemium models
    • Promotions and marketing for services – BTL, ATL, digital and social media
    • Place of distribution for services – MTN properties and within the ayoba environment
    • Develop/update branding and CI guidelines in co-ordination with Group brand and the ayoba team for the Opco’s
    • Obtain & ensure alignment and buy-in from OpCos on the GTM (4Ps) for the OTT vertical to enable execution
    • Develop and socialise a marketing and campaigns Playbook to provide guidance to OpCos in alignment with other divisions in MTN Group and the ayoba team
    • Develop, socialise, and implement central marketing campaigns for new service, existing services and for key seasonal periods to drive growth
    • Drive delivery & execution by the Opcos

    Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
    Education:

    • Minimum of 4 years tertiary qualification/ 4 year Business Science. Engineering (or related) Degree –
    • Master’s in business administration/ relevant Master’s degree is advantageous – Fluent in English and any language of a country preferable

     Experience:

    • 5 years or more relevant work experience in Digital Services, Telecommunication industry
    • At least 2-3 years’ experience in digital marketing, digital product management, content management
    • Experience in managing and implementing innovative digital products and within the Telco, financial or banking industry
    • Experience in working with OTT partners & Content management
    • Experience with Agile delivery and Development Operations frameworks
    • Deep understanding of the digital ecosystem, players, business models and industry related best practices
    • Strong evidence of partner management and working with key suppliers and partners to deliver on defined strategies
    • Experience in ecommerce and electronic payment business is advantageous
    •  Understanding emerging markets advantageous
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
    • Pan Africa multi-cultural experience is advantageous
    • Abreast of global mind-set and best practice
    • Willing and flexible to travel within Africa and Middle East
