Manager: IDM Engineering at Nedbank

Job Purpose

• To manage and contribute within a team of Data Engineers with a shared vision of building, maintaining, and supporting data pipelines that enable efficient campaigning and easy insights with a focus on data reliability and quality.

Job Responsibilities

• Support existing data pipelines when required.
• Identifying areas for optimising and maintaining existing data pipelines to improve efficiencies and availability.
• Contribute towards the development and implementation of new capabilities to deliver relevant data.
• Structure data into compliance standards by adhering to metadata governance procedures according to Nedbank documented standards and formats.
• Follow proper development life cycles as agreed within the team.
• Maintain code repositories with compliance to standards, systems, processes and procedures.
• Contribute to internal/external information sharing initiatives.
• Understand and embrace the Nedbank vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team, stakeholders, and work.
• Commit to constant personal growth and stay abreast of developments in field of expertise by identifying training courses and career progression for self through input and feedback from managers.
• Encourage the growth and development of direct reporting Data Engineers.
• Align on stakeholder demand and priorities to ensure the right work is delivered at the right time, and at the right quality.
• To provide management reporting on team performance, being able to identify gaps of growth.

Minimum Experience Level

• 3 years in Data Engineering

Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

• Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

Preferred Qualification

• Degree in Information Technology or Information Systems.
