Mission/Core purpose of the Job
- The role is responsible in providing insightful analysis, financial modelling and business cases for sales and distribution business decisions thus enabling insightful business decision making. Drive and manage channel economics through channel profitability reporting and tracking of key financial indicators.

Financial Modelling
- Develop standardised financial modelling templates for different use cases to support insightful business decision making
- Understand cost and revenue drivers for all existing and new products to enable relevant input gathering for business cases
- Take responsibility for making recommendation submission having considered both financial and non financial impacts of decision consequences
- Responsibility for maintaining financial model integrity by carrying out periodic testing of the models.
Support Channel Management on financial analysis
- Understand the structure and framework around Channel management
- Oversight on all financial inputs and outputs relating to sales and distribution
Capital Budgeting/ Discounted CashFlow Techniques (DCF)
- Build capital budgeting models for all investments with an objective to establish if IRR , NPV’s & Profitability returns are viable
- Monthly report which tracks actual returns compared to original business case model – post evaluation review
- Analyse cost sensitivity & elasticity and impact on IRR and profitability
Commercial Efficiencies
- Establish areas requiring efficiencies in S&D Business Unit and execute on plans to realise financial benefit
- Drive the process for producing insightful analysis for Connection Incentives (Acquisition costs) to enable the business drive optimal allocation/ reallocation of acquisition costs
- Drive the process for producing insightful analysis for Retention costs to enable optimal costs allocation for customer retention
- Prepare the reporting, management and coordination of Cost to Connect meeting for the channel and ensure execution of ensuing decisions from the meeting
- Take responsibility for helping channel to deliver Contribution Margin and EBITDA targets by driving A&R efficiency
Channel Finance & Economics
- Provide ongoing analysis to manage Channel efficiency to enable S&D leadership make sound channel management decisions
- Create and manage P&L for Channel and partner to enable assessment of stand alone performance of each distribution Channel partner
- Lead the implementation of recommended optimal Channel strategy and Channel improvement initiatives
- Lead Channel forecasting, planning and reporting on an on going basis providing reporting insights as part of month end close
- Collaborate with the Commissions team and provide stakeholders support in implementing and driving smart commission
Internal control management – Governance
- Take responsibility for enforcing key governance issues
- Ensure all relevant open audit issues are resolved within deadlines
Operational Planning
- Consider the long term implications of actions from a broad perspective including long term positioning
- Consider the impact of solutions on other areas of the business, as well as the interdependency of units
- Drive best practice, continuous improvement and innovation at process and procedure level
- Consider local conditions, as well as competitor activity

- Provide ongoing support to FINOPS, Commissions Team, S&D and FP&A to ensure clear visibility and enhance reputation of the Business

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)
Education:
- Min of a three year degree or diploma e.g. B Comm. or Business qualification or equivalent
- CA or GCMA qualifications will be an added advantage
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial modelling and business case analysis. Experience in working in a medium to large organization
- At least 2 years experience in a similar position, in dynamic and fast-moving industries
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and powerpoint
