This Mission includes approximately 346 U.S. and 620 locally engaged staff employed by 28 U.S. Government departments and agencies. In addition to the Embassy in Pretoria, there are Consulates in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 number of hours per week)

Duties
The incumbent exercises full associated responsibility with the Dispatch Agency in the direction, planning and administration of all Agencies’ activities related to import and export of all shipments. The incumbent is responsible for planning, developing and directing operations of all import and exports for all posts in South Africa as well as all posts in the Southern Africa Region. This includes oversight of the export process and inbound customs entry clearance process, packing of both surface and air shipments, transportation by all modes, special shipment handling, for the personal and household effects of United States Government employees from all agencies across 60 ICASS cost centers. Transportation related activities are from any domestic port in South Africa to any posts in Southern Africa or transshipped from any post in Southern Africa to any foreign country or to the United States. Shipments include such items as automobiles, household effects (HHE/HHG), Unaccompanied Air Baggage (UAB), wildlife trophies, and wine. Incumbent is responsible for the administration of Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) documentation.
Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Must have a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in shipping and logistics, with emphasis on both air and sea shipments.
Education Requirements:
Successful completion of Grade 12 (matric) is required.
