    Legal Advisor - Germiston

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The incumbent should be an admitted attorney with exceptional contract drafting and commercial/corporate law experience. Environmental law would be beneficial.

    The incumbent will be required to inter alia:

    • Draft, amend, edit and review standard commercial agreements.
    • Vet, review and negotiate various commercial agreements over a broad spectrum including the qualification of tender documents (for example service level, leases, IT, off-take, procurement agreements) as well as agreements pertaining to mergers and acquisitions, shareholders agreements, joint ventures and associated agreements.
    • Manage various matters such as property transactions, IP matters and the like.
    • Provide general legal advice and opinions to senior management and directors on a wide range of matters.
    • Facilitate business transactions with a specialised focus on content rights acquisition and intellectual property.
    • Provide expertise and advice on legal aspects of corporate decisions, policies and plans.
    • Assist with legal and regulatory compliance; dispute resolutions, settlement negotiations and discussions.
    • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on the various aspects of the business.
    • Conduct legal training.
    • Manage civil and commercial litigation as well as dispute resolution.
    • Liaise with external legal counsel where necessary.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS:

    • Com, LLB– must be an admitted attorney
    • Valid Code 8 Drivers licence

    MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE:

    • At least 6 years post articles legal experience, preferably within a multinational company in a similar role. Candidate must have sound corporate experience outside of practice.

    • Legal research skills
    • Solid decision making capability.
    • Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks in an energetic environment with multiple priorities.
    • Exemplary writing and editing skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
    • Excellent communication and analytical skills in both written and spoken English
