Lecturer / Senior Lecturer: (Ref.JL20) at Durban University of Technology

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Lecturer

• Masters in Microbiology / Biochemistry with a minimum of three years of relevant experience with specializations in Bioinformatics / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry.
• Publications in DHET accredited journals.

Senior Lecturer

• Doctorate in Microbiology / Biochemistry with a minimum of five years of relevant experience with specializations in Bioinformatics / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry.
• Publications in DHET accredited journals.
• Evidence of supervision of postgraduate students.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Design and development of curricula for programmes.
• Proficiency in blended teaching and learning.
• Track record of interactions with industry, collaboration with researchers and participation in community engagement projects.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

• Teach Biotechnology-related modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the Biotechnology Programme.
• Supervise postgraduate students.
• Apply for research grants.
• Conduct research in relevant areas of Biotechnology.
• Participate in community engagement projects.
• Perform other duties as determined by the Head of Department.
