Lecturer - EBIT Office of the Dean (Joint Community-Based Project - JCP) at University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering original learning material that supports the development of EBIT students' ability to work effectively in teams with real community partners. The material should also focus on helping students manage their time effectively and cultivate a sense of civic responsibility.
• The lecturer will be required to design innovative assessments that enable students to track their development and receive clear and meaningful feedback. In addition to teaching responsibilities, project management is an essential part of the job description.

Minimum Requirements
LECTURER

• A relevant Master’s degree ( Engineering, Engineering Education, Informatics, Project management, Educational psychology or equivalent).
• Publications in accredited journals or conferences;
• Experience in coaching, mentoring and focus on the mental well-being of a diverse student body;
• Experience with online project management.

Required Competencies (skills, Knowledge And Behavioural Attributes)

• Appropriate language and communication skills;

Added Advantages And Preferences

• Preference will be given to candidates who has the intention to do research and work in Engineering Education or related fields in the Higher Education sector.
• Ideally the candidate has at least 3 years’ experience in a tertiary institution and has exposure and experience in developing and assessing professional competencies in students.
• Preference will be given to candidates who has experience in leading community-engagement projects;
• The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience in project management, and the ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential.
