    Kitchen/Production Manager

    Job Context

    Servest Catering ,the division of the Servest Group has an exciting opportunity for a Kitchen/Production Manager in Midrand.This role is responsible for leading back-of-house staff including cooks, FSA's and cleaners before, during and after meal service and ensuring delivery of consistent, quality meals to customers on time and within budget.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Matric (Grade 12)
    • Food & Beverage Management Qualification
    • Basic Computer Literacy – Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word, Internet
    • 3 years in Management and Hospitality / Restaurant Experience
    • Valid Driver’s License and own car
    • A strong base of culinary knowledge
    • Leadership skills
    • Interpersonal skills
    • Conflict resolution
    • Attention to detail
    • Financial understanding
    • Physical stamina to withstand a full shift potentially on their feet

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Ensure delivery of a quality food and beverage service
    • Plan and cost menus
    • Liaise with suppliers and place orders
    • Managing inventory so that all necessary ingredients are stocked for service
    • Induction of new staff and providing training to facilitate quick acclimation
    • Streamlining the kitchen processes to maintain prompt service times
    • Working with the Head Chef to develop and maintain the menu
    • Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels
    • Creating schedules for all kitchen staff
    • Tracking kitchen finances to identify areas of potential waste
    • Conduct the necessary inspections and checks, reporting and auctioning non-conformances
    • Initiate waste control and recycling measures and ensure management thereof
    • Hold regular fire drills and effect evacuation procedures
    • Report incidents and accidents Act appropriately in the event of a breach in health, safety and / or security standards / legislation
