    IT Senior Business Analyst - Centurion

    Purpose of Position:

    • The Business Analyst’s role is to elicit, analyse, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders, be they customers or end users.
    • This includes interviewing stakeholders and gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions they need.
    • Proactively look for new technologies to optimize business processes and play a pivotal role in ensuring IT’s understanding of business requirements.

    Requirements:

    • BABOK certification (Advantageous)  (Required),
    • Six-Sigma Black Belt certification (Advantageous)  (Required),
    • University Degree in Computer Science, Informatics or Business administration. Post Graduate Degree preferred  (Required)

    Required Experience:

    • 6 – 8 years’ direct work experience., Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language., Clear understanding of product management and market placement., Demonstrated knowledge of the organization’s core business process and operations.,
    • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning, organizing, and managing resources.,
    • Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.,
    • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues and products as required.,
    • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardware solutions, systems, or products.,
    • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling / mapping, elicitation, modeling, verification, methodology development, and data modeling using BPMN notation.,
    • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyse and verify requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards.,

    • Analyses and designs business processes to identify alternative solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness and exploit new technologies and automation.,
    • Assist with the interpretation of user requirements into feasible options and communicate these back to the business stakeholders.,
    • Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of business requirements and processes – verbally or through written documentation – to project managers, sponsors, and other stakeholders so that issues and solutions are understood.,
    • Conduct interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods.,
    • Contributes to the definition of organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for business process improvement.,
    • Create process models, specifications, diagrams, and map to provide direction to developers and / or the project team.,
    • Develop and conduct peer reviews of business requirements to ensure that requirement specifications are correctly interpreted.,
    • Develop and utilize standard templates to accurately and concisely write requirements specifications.,
    • Establishes requirements baselines and ensures changes to requirements are investigated and managed.,
    • Identify and establish scope and parameters of process analysis in order to define impact, outcome criteria, and measure-taking actions.,
    • Lead in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed-upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts,
    • Manage and track the status of requirements throughout the requirements lifecycle; enforce and redefine as necessary.,
    • Manages the execution of business process improvements.,
    • Map existing business processes in order to define current business activities for the development of procedures and models
    • Map To-Be processes in line with finalized business requirements.,
    • Obtains input from, and agreement to requirements from a diverse range of stakeholders.
    • Negotiates with stakeholders to manage competing priorities and conflicts.,
    • Participate in the QA of purchased solutions to ensure features and functions have been enabled and optimized.,
    • Participate in the selection of any requirements or process documentation software solutions that the organization may opt to use.,
    • Perform cost-benefit and return on investment (ROI) analyses for proposed changes to aid management in making implementation decisions.,
    • Plans and drives requirements definition and prioritisation activities for large, complex initiatives.,
    • Plans and manages acceptance testing activity.,
    • Prepare and deliver reports, recommendations, or alternatives for improving processes in operating systems across the organization.,
    • Provide feedback on business analysis activities at project progress meetings.
