    Inventory Manager - Kempton Park

    Purpose of the Job    
    The main purpose of an Inventory Manager is to help the business to easily and efficiently manage the ordering, stocking, storing, and using of inventory. By effectively managing our inventory, we will always know what items are in stock, how many of them there are, and where they are located.

    Job Objectives    

    • Efficient day-to-day running of the Inventory Department through people and capacity enablement and management, priority setting and scheduling of work. The Inventory Department comprises of both the inventory and cycle count teams.
    • Management of inventory system integrity and inventory health through the implementation of inventory management principles and best practices.
    • Developing and implementing, in collaboration with business stakeholders, operational procedures and best practices to improve efficiency. 
    • Analysing inventory data to determine risks and opportunities and providing insights to various management teams.
    • Championing annual financial stock takes, along with planning, implementing, and overseeing regular cycle counts to identify causes of stock losses and discrepancies.
    • Investigating and effectively resolving any stock discrepancies.
    • Controlling and monitoring inventory adjustments and movements within the operation to ensure alignment is maintained between physical and system counts.
    • Conducting regular audits on inventory integrity to ensure the correct processes are being followed.
    • Internal collaboration with business stakeholders on the slotting layout of the operation and the implementation thereof.
    • Reporting of inventory health and integrity, and the performance of the Inventory Department.

    Qualifications    

    • Minimum requirement is Matric. A relevant post matric qualification / degree will be advantageous. 

    Experience    

    • Minimum of three years in a Production and Warehousing environment. Inventory experience within the Shoprite DC (Advantageous).  

    Knowledge and Skills    

    • Knowledge of SAP (advantageous), attention to detail, excel, communication skills, ability to work independently.
