    Internal Communications Specialist

    Role Purpose    

    • To offer professional internal communications support to the organisation, developing plans, managing channels, creating content and engaging our staff in line with our strategic direction, communications strategies and brand.

    Requirements    

    • Degree in communication science, public relations, journalism or similar.
    • 3-5 years’ work experience in internal communication, employee engagement or a communication related environment
    • Good understanding of various communication channels and to use them effectively.

    Duties & Responsibilities    

    • Work seamlessly across departmental or team boundaries in a collaborative and constructive manner to implement the strategic direction of the business.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service excellence and delivery against the requirements of the company.
    • Work within the legislation, policies and procedures of Momentum Metropolitan Holdings and it’s greater Investments business at all times.
    • Partner with teams from across Momentum Investments to develop internal communications plans that support their objectives while also delivering our organisational communications strategies and strengthening our brand.
    • Develop internal messaging that reflects our brand personality and Investments story of “With us, investing is personal”, demonstrates an understanding of our audiences and is professionally and plainly written.
    • Edit and analyse information, material or content prepared by others.
    • Coordinate messages across channels, ensuring that we deliver our internal communications in a planned, targeted and well organised way.
    • Be agile when the need for urgent communications arises.
    • Work with leaders to develop creative approaches for communicating with our staff, especially through the management line.
    • Support leaders across Momentum Investments to develop their own communication skills so that they are better positioned to communicate with their teams.
    • Look for opportunities to bring external communication (PR) about our business and people through the internal communication channels as well. Also identify opportunities for our internal communication and stories to be reused for external (PR) purposes.
    • Take overall responsibility for maintaining the integrity, structure and high-quality content of Momentum Investments’ intranet pages including creating new microsites and communities as needed.
    • Contribute to our departmental communication planning process, ensuring that communication for key campaigns and projects is aligned.
    • Write content to a professional standard and distribute it through appropriate channels, currently including email, intranet and WhatsApp.
    • Measure and review the effectiveness of communication channels and make recommendations to the business as appropriate.
    • Work with our HC community, including Human Resources and Organisational Development, to develop our plans for measurement of staff engagement and general upward communication from staff.
    • Generate content for communications with other audiences as required by the business from time to time.
    • Conceptualise, activate and execute campaigns and events.
    • Research and identify new processes/technologies and make recommendations for use and purchase, including training others to use the new methods and technical tools.
    • Work with and manage the relationship with service providers such as freelancers and venue managers.
    • Track and manage project budgets.
    • Keep abreast of trends, legislation, and best practice in the internal communication and employee engagement field.
