    Industrial Engineer

    Overview    
    Core Deliverables:

    • Conduct work study analyses on operational processes and activities, including work sampling and time and method studies in order to eliminate waste and inefficiencies
    • Identify improvement opportunities, quantify costs and benefits and present business cases for change to the relevant decision makers
    • Manage the implementation of improvement projects and act as primary Supply Chain liaison with the BME PMO function

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent
    • Registration with Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
    • 2 Years demonstrated experience in project management 

    Experience    

    • 5 Years demonstrated experience in Manufacturing or Supply Chain Management
    • 3 Years proven track record of successful improvement reduction of wastefulness and improvement of efficiencies and cost containment
    • 2 Years demonstrated experience in People Management

    Duties    
    Job Related Skills:

    • Working knowledge of engineering best practice, principles and performance standards  
    • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
    • Knowledge of best practice process improvement methods  
    • Working knowledge of SHERQ  
    • Knowledge of global explosives products, equipment, and services  
    • Knowledge of Quality Management  
    • The ability to apply scientific knowledge to practical problems  
    • Complex problem-solving - Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions  
    • Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems  
    • Judgement and decision-making
    • Ability to manage cross-functional project teams  
    • Reporting writing skills  
    • Presentation and communication skills  
    • Intermediate MS Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)  
    • Knowledge of Project Management Systems/Tools  
    • IT skills, particularly computer-aided design
