    ICT Field Technician

    Job Description

    • To ensure all technical standards are upheld at all times, across all cinemas, through the timely rectification and repairs of technical concerns / NOC alarms and equipment failures. To support cinema teams through timely communication, escalations and on-site support. 

    ICT Field Technician Job Duties:

    • Efficient management (repair, replacement, removal and calibration) of all ICT equipment (projection, sound, kitchen and auditorium equipment).
    • Provide backup support to all allocated cinemas (IT, Projection, Sound, Automation, Digital Signage, Lamp Changes, Filter Cleaning & Changes, Ingestion of Content and Playlists, Events, Unique, DCU, Cherwell reporting, popcorn equipment maintenance, swop out projectors for light engine refurbishments, fault finding and repairing on all technical and IT equipment.
    • Execute efficient projection servicing and sound upgrades as per service schedule provided periodically, or as the need is identified.
    • Assist with prep-work, installation & commissioning of New Builds and the decommissioning of sites / auditoriums, per business requirements
    • Ensure that all cinema call logs and NOC escalation are attended to administratively (calls closed timeously, with the appropriate feedback).
    • Responsible to do cinema audits and evaluation of standards to improve Perfect Presentation – Standard Operating Procedure
    • Ensure that all processes related to stock / asset requirements have a relevant call log and orders are placed with the warehouse manager and workshop supervisor. Items should only be taken once the above process is approved, or otherwise confirmed by Management (in case of emergencies).
    • Weekly Reports on all Projection, Sound and Equipment for the respectively allocated cinemas to be supplied to Field Support Manager. Reports must be detailed and include Lost Shows, Technical Failures, Parts Replacement, Resolution Timelines and Escalations to external service providers
    • Physical and administrative management of vehicles, tools and assets under your direct and or indirect control in line with company policies and / or directives.
    • Will be expected to perform Standby Duties & Work Overtime as per Operational Requirements.
    • Will be required to travel Nationally / International based on technical/operational needs.
    • Must have the ability to pick up and move projection equipment with assistance if required according to the H&S standards.
    • ADHOC tasks and duties as instructed by the Field Support Manager from time to time.
    • Moving of items/stock/equipment from HO to Cinema or Cinema to Cinema, from time to time.
    • Ensure that all cinemas receive the required elements to ensure a successful trading week, these include (DCP’s, KDM’s, Trailers, Adverts, Content Marketing Material, Content Transfers). Any failures to receive the above or the receipt of corrupt files must be escalated immediately, assuring no downtime at cinemas and the upholding of our brand image.

    Qualifications:

    • Matric
    • A+ or N+ or relevant diploma / degree or Technical / Electronics / Sound Certification Qualification

    Experience and Knowledge of:

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Projection, Technical or ICT role

    • General understanding of Electrical Wiring & Electronic Circuitry
    • Ability to read and understand Technical Drawings & Datasheets
    • Knowledge & Ability to use Hand Tools and small Power Tools
    • Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
