    HR Business Advisor (Employee Relations)

    Job description
    Northam Eland Platinum Mine has an exciting opportunity for a HR Business Advisor who will provide ER support to the mine by ensuring that employee relations initiatives are fair, consistent and in accordance with the relevant labour laws . The successful incumbent will maintain compliance with company policies and promote sound Employee Relations. Guided by our purpose and our values, we enable both high performance and purposeful action as we aim to promote “Smart Platinum Mining ", delivering on metals (PGMs) including platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium and osmium.

    Qualifications

    • Grade 12 or equivalent at NQF level 4
    • National Diploma/Degree in Labour Law/Labour Relations /Human Resource Management

    Experience

    • Minimum three (3) years experience in a similar role in a unionised mining environment:
    • Employee relations skills with proven track record on facilitating internal disciplinary, incapacity and grievance processes
    • CCMA company representation experience will an added advantage

    Key performance areas
    As our Business Advisor Employee Relations some of your responsibilities will include but not limited to: 

    • Promote and maintain sound employer and employee relations in line with statutory requirements and best practice
    • Facilitate the management of discipline, grievances, incapacity and dispute resolution
    • Capacity building of line management and employees on labour relations legislation
    • Monitor the employee relations climate
    • Foster constructive relations with organised labour

    Additional requirements

    • Knowledge of BCEA, LRA and other legislation regulating particulars of employment
    • Strong work ethic
    • Proficient in MS Suite
    • Communication skills in the English language
    • Medical Certificate of Fitness
