Head: Legal Aid Clinic - (1246) at University of Venda

Requirements:

• LLM Degree with ten years post-admission experience. A person must be admitted as an Attorney, with the Right of appearance in the High Courts and registered, and with a letter of good standing from the Legal Practice Council, be computer literate, and have excellent communication skills.

Duties:

• Strategically manage the activities of the Law Clinic
• Report to the School of Law, Faculty Board and LPC on behalf of the Law Clinic
• Manage budget of the Law Clinic and related cost centre
• Manage and supervise junior staff members attached to the Law Clinic.
• Register and train candidate attorneys attached to the Law Clinic
• Approve and allocate files.
• Teach the teaching of Clinical Legal Education attached to the Law Clinic.
• Manage practical training of senior Law Students.
• Coordinate community engagement projects run by the Law Clinic
• Manage relations with courts and other stakeholders in the justice cluster
• Represent clients in legal matters attached to the Law Clinic.
