JOB DESCRIPTION

• To design, develop, and implement the Insurance Analytics framework, toolboxes, and capabilities to drive business unit objectives for Insurance business within Standard Bank South Africa. To improve the business decision making ability for Insurance through the use of analytics, data driven thinking and the development of appropriate analytical toolsets / platforms.
• To provide the Insurance business with regular integrated reporting and analytical insights on customer, policy, and geographic dimensions to drive and inform their strategic and tactical initiatives.
• To provide proactive insights into the business using various sources of data demonstrating a strong understanding of the business.
• To provide the strategic direction of the Insurance data environment to ensure robust processes that deliver automated, accurate, and consistent results that are aligned with SBSA standards and practices.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

• Business Commerce/Statistics/Actuarial
• Mathematical Sciences/Statistics/Actuarial

Experience Required

• Previous experience in a knowledge discovery, analytics and customer intelligence role within a financial institution.
• Experience in analytics associated with customer behaviors and trends.
• People management within a multi-disciplinary team and significant project management experience.
• Experience in translating analytical outputs for business consumption.
• Previous experience in ownership of generating sustainable commercial outcomes and dealing with stakeholders across a matrix environment.
