    Head : Corporate Savings and Income

    Job Description

    This role Leads the Savings and Income: Corporate Outcome and is responsible for:

    • Driving the development of the strategic direction of the Outcome – i.e., its vision, why it will win and what we need to do to get there
    • Is accountable for the development and execution of the Outcome’s supporting functional strategy along with the key result areas of the Outcome being the promised end-to-end customer experience and the outcome to customers, employers and OM shareholders
    • Is accountable for the end-to-end P&L of the proposition value chain of the function
    • Is accountable for the products and platforms supporting the customer propositions which includes the building of new and the maintenance of the existing Corporate Savings and Income products along with support for OMAR
    • Is accountable for the Retirement Funds governance of and support to Superfund
    • Specifically, it is accountable for the development and maintenance of the with profit product set containing c. R300bn of policyholder with profit funds and the Superfund with more than R100bn.

    Note: customer here means end member but by extension includes the Employer a as key stakeholder

    Key Result Areas

    • Collaborate with Corporate to set the Corporate savings and income customer vision for OM so that we are the premier home for Retirement Fund members that want to save, stay saving and then draw and income.
    • Competitor analysis and monitoring global best practice in this sphere
    • Develop and implement the strategy to get us there by owning the end-to-end delivery capability across product/service/IT.
    • Develop new and maintain existing propositions (especially with profit products and the SuperFund platform), including not only the product but also the end-to-end customer experience.
    • Own the annuity pricing capability for the Group including Retail
    • Ensure our members get to their Savings and/or Income Outcomes (“own the Outcome”): includes developing lead and lag indicators and responding
    • accordingly when things go off track.
    • Shareholders get the return expected.
    • Balance carefully the value for customer and shareholder.
    • Accountable to direct the strategic agenda and associated priorities and develops the roadmap to realise intended business and customer outcomes/ value aligned to Corporate and Old Mutual’s growth ambitions.
    • Embeds customer experience through the delivery of the end-to-end customer journey.
    • Ensure a deep understanding of customer needs to drive the innovation for product stack.
    • Collaborates across enterprise to ensure the consistency of product offerings  and customer experience within and across customer outcome tribes.
    • Drives and instils the Agile ways of work: product ownership, backlogs, QBP, QBR etc.
    • Drives and instils the product ownership as a key principle for accountability and delivery within squads. 
    • Manage expectations of key stakeholders /clients and communicating risks effectively to stakeholders.

    Miniumum Qualifications / Experience (Required for the Job):

    • Actuary with 15 years' relevant experience
    • Knowledge and experience of Business Agility and principles
    • Several years of strong Corporate experience owning and delivering products/solutions over the entire lifecycle in a multi-team environment and multi-channel context
    • Deep understanding of industry trends and client needs, with the ability to create a distinctive value proposition for the journey’s end users
    • Strong belief in a non-hierarchical culture of interaction, transparency, and trust in squads
    • Stakeholder Management, Negotiation & Communication Skills
    • Clarity on delivering clear, prioritised features with acceptance criteria

    Additional Qualifications / Experience (Preferred, Not a Requirement)

    • Detailed knowledge of the organisation, systems, and procedures of Old
    • Able to manage engagement with a wide range of stakeholders
    • Critical thinking, ability to find new solutions
    • Belief in a non-hierarchical culture, transparency and trust in squad
    • Ability to influence and relate to people at all levels
    • Good people management skills
