    Growth Manager Acquiring

    Role Purpose/Business Unit:

    • The role purpose of the Growth Manager Acquiring is to drive Merchant Engagement, across the POS Acquiring base with the goal to grow and retain revenue.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Growth function

    • Drive business growth by implementing and continuously improve on merchant retention strategies ensuring the highest rates of merchant activity rates across the acquiring book, and in so doing optimising the cost of merchant acquisition.  
    • Weekly / monthly reporting with regards to merchant engagements, cancellations, repricing and support interactions
    • Relationship management with the Vodapay Customer Operations (“COPS”) team
    • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with external stakeholders. 
    • Review Outsourced Support CRM reporting and identifying and rectifying action items.
    • Ensure the effective monitoring and adherence of SLAs with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Ownership of the pricing function.
    • Identifying opportunities and driving the implementation and optimisation of merchant engagement strategies.

    Commercial function

    • Provide comprehensive commercial oversight of the overall performance of the Merchant Acquiring business.
    • Driving revenue assurance with Finance function.
    • Strategic input and guidance to Finance on LRP
    • Overseeing the development of all relevant documentation, providing inputs and evaluation for financial business cases and defining business rules. 
    • Development and attainment of operational and financial KPI’s based on industry best practices.
    • Monthly business performance presentations for an audience consisting of managing executives.
    • Regularly reviews launched products to ensure the financial viability, identify risks and give input to ensure the performance is in line with initial assumptions. Highlight corrective measures to be implemented if needed and also look at how to improve/enhance products.
    • Formulation of commercial models for Sales and Distribution channels
    • Oversight over Sales and Distribution channel performance

    Value-Added Service portfolio

    • End-to-end accountability of the strategy, roadmap, and financial performance of SME Value-Added Services.
    • Relationship management with external technical stakeholders, product suppliers and industry bodies.
    • Contentious market engagement to identify trends, product gaps and process issues.
    • Accountability for pricing of vending products

    Data and Reporting ownership

    • End-to-end accountability for all data and reporting responsibilities across the VFS POS Acquiring Portfolio, including touchpoints with other VFS products.
    • SPOC for VFS POS data roadmap
    • Operational dashboarding
    • Assisting with detailed deep dives with the goal to optimise products, processes, and commercial viability.
    • Ownership of the merchant segmentation roadmap, ensuring a better understanding of who the VFS merchant base personas are and giving input into the Marketing acquisition strategies.

    Inter-department and cross-vertical engagement

    • Engage and give input to the Product team in conceptualisation and development of products that deliver valuable and unique customer propositions.
    • Lead and oversee telephonic merchant engagements within the BCA Lending space.
    • Regularly reviews the merchant touchpoints on launched products to ensure the products meet merchants’ expectations, highlight deficiencies, and drive the resolution thereof with the relevant accountable parties.

    The Ideal Candidate for this role will have:

    Must have technical / professional qualifications: 

    • A degree in finance/commerce 

    Core competencies, knowledge and experience:

    • 5-10 years Payments and Product experience
