    Group Financial Manager – Johannesburg

    Job Description

    • We are seeking an experienced Financial Manager to lead our Financial Department.
    • The ideal candidate will be hands-on, possess strong managerial skills, effective communication abilities, excellent time management, and the capacity to work well under pressure.

    Responsibilities:

    • Financial Accounts Preparation:
    • Prepare monthly and annual financial accounts for audit purposes, including account reconciliations and compliance.
    • Financial Status and Forecasting:
    • Document the company’s financial status and provide forecasts.
    • Financial Planning and Reporting:
    • Develop financial plans and produce regular reports.
    • Statutory Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with tax and other statutory reporting (Tax, VAT, Dividends Tax, CIPC, COID, Employees tax, Individual Shareholders tax).
    • Trend Analysis:
    • Analyse financial trends and industry standards.
    • Finance Department Management:
    • Oversee the operation and development of the finance department.
    • Policy Creation and Review:
    • Create and review financial policies.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes.
    • Staff Recruitment and Training:
    • Recruit and train finance staff.
    • Cashflow Management:
    • Monitor cashflow and prepare cashflow forecasts.
    • Group Requirements:
    • Handle group insurance requirements (PI, Assets, Group life), pensions funds.
    • B-BBEE Certificate Preparation:
    • Plan and complete the annual B-BBEE Certificate for the Construction sector.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum: BCom in accounting.

    Experience

    • + – 15 Years Financial Management experience in a similar role.

    Skills
    Accounting:

    • Proficiency in financial accounting principles, including preparing financial statements, managing accounts, and understanding financial transactions.
    • IT (Information Technology):
    • Familiarity with relevant financial software, such as SAP Business One, Enterprise (preferable), Microsoft Excel, Word, Power BI, and SAGE 300.

    Reporting:

    • Ability to create accurate and timely financial reports, analyse data, and present findings to stakeholders.

    Critical Thinking:

    • Evaluating complex financial situations, identifying patterns, and making informed decisions.

    Collaboration:

    • Working effectively with cross-functional teams, communicating financial insights, and contributing to organizational goals.

    Competencies:
    Financial Data Analyses:

    • Proficiently analysing financial data, identifying trends, and making data-driven recommendations.

    Communication:

    • Clearly conveying financial information to colleagues, clients, and management.

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborating with colleagues, stakeholders, and other departments to achieve financial objectives.
