General Manager - Product and Services Group Digital at MTN

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role will be responsible for the user experience of the Digital Services Client across MTN footprint. He/she will identify the opportunities to build group wide shared products, build and deploy them across all the Opcos. He/she will assist the Opcos in customizing the products to their local needs. MTN Digital Services B to C portfolio consists of:

• Content and entertainment services for mobile and fixed offers (video, games, music, press, books,..) 
• The new verticals (Heath, education, energy, security, …) 
• Advertising business (B to B) 
• The legacy services (VAS, CRBT) The Ayoba service is managed independently, with close link with the Group Digital Services team.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The GM Digital Products and services will be accountable to deliver:

• Define the overall product line of the groupwide digital products and services”
• Interact and support the Technology team to define the technology components to support the products line
• Design of the digital platforms, products and services
• Constantly look for better ways of solving technical problems and designing the solution, not afraid of challenging the status quo
• Deliver state of the art UX and design, using internal and third-party design to create world class experiences on the smartphone and the big screens.
• Develop and deploy the play aggregation portal, and manage its availability though MyMTN, Momo and Ayoba
• Create the TV experience for smartphone and big screens, partnering with Group Technology to create Super Aggregator features (recommendation, search, etc.).
• Ensure increased distribution of products and services.
• Identify the strategic roadmap to create the relevant products and service offerings to support the new businesses.
• Define and manage the Digital products roadmap aligned to commercial needs
• Foster strong partnerships with other platforms within the greater MTN Group, including Ayoba, Momo, My MTN to ensure alignment and delivery.
• Identify, prototype new and improved digital product features that are developed at group for the Opcos
• Define future proof shared products and features and collaborate, support for the Opcos in the deployment of the solutions
• Post deployment support, maintenance and continuous enhancement of digital solutions (platforms, product and services)

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Job Requirements 

Education:

• Minimum 4-year academic degree with Honours
• MBA/Master’s degree (advantageous)
• English (mandatory) French and Arabic (as advantage)

Experience:

• Minimum 5 8 years’ experience
• Minimum 3 years senior management experience
• Minimum 5 years of sector, industry or area of specialisation
• Experience in global /multinational business environment
• Experience in leading change / transformation (marketing) at an operational level advantageous
• Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices
• Experience in customer value creation
• Experience in digital product design and implementation
