    General Manager - Large Enterprisen Enterprise Business Unit

    Job Description

    • Drive the growth and profitability of the large enterprise segment by developing and leading the management of National and the Gauteng key account portfolios working closely with the CEBO.
    • Building strong relationships with LE segment clients and industry leaders.
    • Delivering customer centric solutions that meet LE segment clients’ business objectives working closely with the product teams.
    • Identify new revenue streams, informing product teams on industry-specific solutions.
    • Collaborating with regional sales teams to achieve overall business goals.

    Responsibilities
    Strategy Development and Implementation

    • Develop and execute comprehensive strategies to achieve business objectives and growth targets for the large enterprise segment.
    • Identify market opportunities and trends to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
    • Align large enterprise strategies with overall corporate goals and initiatives.
    • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in business practices and service offerings.
    • Collaborate regularly with the CEBO to align solutions with best practice and to the overall MTN SA Enterprise strategy and guidance.
    • Continually assess the needs of customers, emerging market trends and competitive opportunities in defining and evolving the Strategy.
    • Lead the business strategy and set sales targets to achieve ambition in line with MTN SA’s Enterprise strategy, overseeing the sales team for large ticket products.

    Business Operations Leadership

    • Oversee day-to-day operations of the large enterprise segment to ensure efficiency, quality, and productivity.
    • Implement and optimise business processes to enhance operational performance and customer satisfaction.
    • Engage and lead the partnerships between BAU functions and outside partners to help develop products and initiatives on a national level.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Manage and oversee project documents, including all SLA’s and project scopes, to ensure fair and realistic standards have been set, along with appropriate deadlines.
    • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Continuously manage and review the performance and deliverables of direct and indirect reports to ensure that the MTN SA Enterprise goals and objectives are achieved.
    • Develop business cases and serve as subject-matter expert for large enterprise solutions, as they are built to scale by development teams.
    • Develop and design area’s Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) to ensure that contractual agreements are met for clients and all parties involved.

    Financial Leadership and Cost Control

    • Develop and manage the annual budget for the large enterprise segment.
    • Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, and implement cost control measures.
    • Conduct financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decisions and business planning.
    • Identify and pursue opportunities to improve financial performance and achieve financial targets.

    Product Leadership (End-to-End)

    • Collaborate with product development, marketing, and sales teams to ensure product offerings meet market demands and customer needs.
    • Drive innovation in product development to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
    • Monitor product performance and customer feedback to inform product enhancements and new development.

    Governance, Policies and Procedures

    • Develop and enforce governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate business risks.
    • Maintain accurate and transparent documentation of business activities and decisions.
    • Conduct regular reviews and audits to ensure adherence to governance policies.

    Stakeholder Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
    • Represent the large enterprise segment in executive meetings and industry forums.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align expectations and objectives.
    • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns promptly and effectively.
    • Develop partnering relationships with senior executives throughout the MTN SA Enterprise business unit as well as GAMs and LAMs, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust and ensuring that internal clients have access to high-quality advice and guidance to support in delivering business strategy and plans.
    • Engage with the Legal, Finance and Risk Departments within MTN SA to understand the regulatory requirements when developing products and services, to ensure appropriate compliance across jurisdictions.

    People Leadership /Management

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of professionals within the large enterprise segment.
    • Set integrated goals and objectives for the team in order to achieve a future-focused, future-fit high-performing organisation.
    • Foster a positive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and innovation.
    • Attract, develop and retain appropriate talent. Build talent by identifying and developing new leaders for the respective environment
    • Enable and model healthy employee relations and collaborative teamwork.
    • Manage diversity, develop, and embed an Employment Equity plan for the business area
    • Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
    • Develop and implement talent management and succession planning strategies to ensure long-term success.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Telecommunication or a related field
    • Masters/ MBA Degree preferred
    • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior leadership role within the telecommunications industry:
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies.
    • Experience leading and motivating high-performing teams.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
    • Project management experience.
    • Understanding emerging markets advantageous
    • Worked across diverse cultures and geographies
