    Fleet Manager - Fourways

    Overview    

    • Maintenance, repair, replacement, and disposal of all fleet vehicles. 

    Qualifications    

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in related field

    Experience    

    • 5 - 10 years’ fleet management experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a managerial role
    • Experience in creating and establishing fleet policies and procedures, from vehicle assignment to replacement cycling, accident reporting and insurance claim management
    • Proven track record of high-level reporting and presenting to senior management
    • Demonstrated capability to negotiate and influence multiple stakeholders of internal and external origin
    • In-depth knowledge of NRTA and AARTO
    • Experience with fleet monitoring and tracking technologies (DriveRisk, Netstar, C-Track)

    • Experience working with mining clients
    • Experience in transportation of dangerous goods, specifically explosives

    Duties    
    Fleet Management

    • Active involvement in fleet maintenance, purchasing and disposal of fleet vehicles
    • Provides direct supervision typically to professionals or skilled technical employees at the entry or intermediate level
    • Functions as advisor to business unit and sets goals and objectives for team members for achievement of divisional results
    • Interprets and exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action
    • Supervises staff to assure accountability for meeting departmental deliverables
    • Investigate and evaluate new technologies for fleet management
    • Initiate projects to improve efficiency for departmental functions
    • Maintaining detailed records of company fleet vehicles
    • Inspect and evaluate the condition of company fleet vehicles and technology fitted
    • Manage fleet management service providers
    • Ensure full legislative compliance on all company fleet vehicles

    Safety and Risk Management

    • Accountable for the fitment and upkeep of safety tracking devices in all fleet vehicles
    • Participate in divisional SHERQ activities
    • Identify areas of risk in the fleet and develop measure to eliminate, reduce and control them
    • Managing the contracts with service providers related to safety systems on all fleet vehicles
    • Licensing, roadworthy and insurance of all fleet vehicles
