• The Rainbow Chicken Processing plant based in Rustenburg is looking to appoint a qualified Fitter. The position will report to the Plant Engineer. A minimum of 3 years post trade test qualification with experience in a fast paced FMCG environment could secure

Minimum Requirements    

• Recognised Fitter trade test
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar fast paced environment in the FMCG industry
• Arc, gas welding and gas cutting experience essential
• Basic workshop equipment experience with lathe, milling machines, etc.
• Ability to take charge on major mechanical breakdowns with good communication and people

skills

• Reliable vehicle and valid drivers license

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Repairs and maintenance of all mechanical equipment
• Overhauling and assembling of all mechanical equipment
• Welding, cutting and repairs on stainless steel pipes and structural members. (Basic boilermaking)
• Housekeeping
• Adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Adherence to all ISO/HACCP standards and procedures
• Attend to breakdowns.
• Inspections & planned work as per Job Cards
• Ability to plan work in terms of downtime prevention is essential
• Sourcing of spares costing for planned work
• Shift work, Overtime, call-outs and standby required
