Fitter Assistant at McCain Foods

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

• To assist with the repairs and maintenance of planting and harvesting equipment.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

Equipment

• Strip and inspect equipment after the season.
• Repair damaged parts.
• Re-assemble equipment according to OEM standards.
• Assist in testing equipment.
• Repair all hydraulic leaks and replace worn pipes.
• Replace all worn bearings and chains.
• Fit and sets conveyer belts.
• Service Diesel engine before and during harvesting season.
• Daily maintenance tasks during harvesting season.
• Repair breakdowns on the land during harvesting season.
• Any other duties requested by management.
•  Set-up and /or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment or machines.
•  Participate in department meetings.
• Assist with repairs in the plant.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 years’ experience as a Fitter Assistant.
• Knowledge on Agricultural, Construction or Mining equipment.
• Knowledge of basic hydraulic.
• Knowledge of hydraulic fittings and hoses.
• Sound technical trouble shooting / fault finding skills.
