    Finance and Payroll Specialist

    The Role:  

    Finance

    • Assisting the Holding Controller during month-end reporting, including People Management reporting, Income statement and Balance sheet
    • Receivables management
    • Cross-border payment document preparation (netting)
    • Journal data preparation and posting
    • Monthly VAT201 reconciliations and calculation
    • Liaison with Deloitte for Provisional taxes and income tax calculations
    • Participation at Regional meetings
    • Internal/external recharges management (including Holding and IT charges)
    • VAT supporting documents as required by SARS
    • Ensuring deadlines are met in terms of financial reporting, payments relating to payroll, and submission of statutory returns
    • Hands-on and ability to improve efficiency in processes
    • Data extraction and analysis, including monthly extraction of reports
    • Monitoring of purchases and adhering to Holding policies
    • Fixed assets management
    • Liaison with Egypt Hub and other business controllers in the region as the need arises
    • Liaison with internal and external auditors as the need arises
    • Creating innovative solutions and enhancing processes in line with The Way We Do Things
    • Adhoc tasks

    Payroll

    • Monthly payroll function for all business areas in South Africa
    • Collate payroll information, produce reports, and review monthly payroll.
    • Preparation of and oversee monthly salary and 3rd party bank payments.
    • Leave administration
    • Responding to payroll-related queries and ensuring ongoing compliance
    • Accurate and timeous delivery of adhoc, monthly and annual payroll reports
    • Maintaining accurate employee records
    • Attending to audit requirements
    • Maintaining knowledge of relevant payroll legislation and regulations
    • Ensure payroll activities are carried out in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Input new employees on payroll system as well as changes to information
    • Continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems
    • Performing calculations necessary to process manual adhoc payments
    • Telephonic confirmation of employment
    • Medical aid and pension fund administration
    • Liaison with 3rd party service providers
    • Ensure accuracy of system calculations
    • Ad hoc tasks (such as UIF administration)

    To succeed, you will need:

    • Grade 12 with a Degree in Finance with minimum 3 years’ experience in Finance/Payroll
    • Strong analytical, presentation and communication skillsAbility to work independently, take responsibility and have a high level of self-motivation and commitment
    • Ability to handle strictly confidential information
    • Outstanding administration and organisational skills
    • Negotiation skills and decision-making ability
    • Must be a team player
    • Previous experience with data analytics/reporting is a must
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Good communication skills and customer needs orientated
    • Very good level of English in written and spoken form
    • Effective interpersonal skills
    • Exceptionally detailed oriented and organized
    • Self-starter with ability to finalize initiatives
