    Finance and Admin Specialist Analyst - Steelpoort

    Purpose of the Job: 

    • Assist to increase efficiencies and dedicated business improvement initiatives.

    Job Responsibilities:

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

    • Identify and assess level of issue-based risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
    • Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation, and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.)
    • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Process through effective use of the Toolbox
    • Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

    CUSTOMERS 

    • Ensure congenial relationship with Business Improvement stakeholders is established and maintained. 
    • Provide continuous feedback regarding the level to which stakeholders' requirements are met.
    • Open communication and feedback channels - employees to participate in problem solving and decision making.
    • Networking - utilize / involve relevant people and business contacts. 

    BUSINESS PROCESSES 

    • Analytical support
    • Effective analytical support provided for the Business Improvement function.
    • Act as primary resource for accessing relevant production and cost data.
    • Provide fact-base to help identify priorities, solve root-causes, and identify significant cost saving ideas.
    • Directly assist idea owners to complete idea forms.
    • Reinforce high standards for idea form requirements.
    • Provide analytic support for weekly review and for updates to relevant departments.
    • Maintain a database of ideas and oversee tracking of all ideas.
    • Ensure cost generating issues are critically analysed and evaluated.
    • Analyse labour cost and suggest improvement areas.
    • Analyse cash cost and NCE and suggest improvement areas.
    • Ensure effective planning and implementation.
    • Meet business budgets (tons produced in an efficient manner),
    • Business improvement implementation assistance:
    • Effective implementation support is provided to the Business 

    Improvement function:

    • Assist Idea owners to develop effective work plans for ideas.
    • Assist Idea owners with any analytical requirements to implement ideas.
    • Assist Idea owners to track ideas to ensure that the results are delivered and sustainable.
    • Assist Idea owners to meet sign-off requirements for ideas.
    • Develop automated tools for wiring (scorecards, result charts).

    Business improvement concepts, tools, and skills:

    • Ensure that strong improvement skills and insight into key functions / operations are developed and maintained.
    • Gain solid understanding of key improvement concepts.
    • Improve skills through use / participation (e.g., driver tree, idea forms, IGS's).
    • Ensure appropriate agreements are in place. 
    • Ensure appropriate communication forums are established.
    • Ensure effective communication channels and networks are established and maintained

    Value-adding:

    • Ensure that value-adding Business Improvement projects, ideas, methodologies, and strategies are implemented.
    • Analyse value-adding projects, ideas, methodologies, and strategies.
    • Benchmark key process performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Identify conformance / deviation in improved and existing processes and suggest improvements.

    Requirements
    Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

    Minimum qualifications: 

    • Degree or National Diploma in Business Management / Business Informatics / Computer Science / Information Technology
    • 4 years’ relevant experience in a Business Improvement environment

    Additional qualifications: 

    • Registered software developer would be advantageous
