    Job Description & Summary

    • A career within Corporate Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You’ll also help organisations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals.

    JOB PURPOSE

    • Manage client portfolios
    • Maintain sound client relationships
    • Manage the team, including the coaching and development of staff
    • The effective execution of an array of tax calculation and tax consulting services to clients in the mining industry.

    A. JOB PROFILE
    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

    Duties

    • Liaising with clients and colleagues to provide income tax and mineral royalty tax services to clients.
    • Managing a range of tax assignments reporting to Managers, Directors and Partners.
    • Producing income tax and mineral royalty tax opinions that add value to client’s business.
    • Perform income tax and mineral royalty tax reviews as part of statutory audits and due diligence projects.
    • Review income tax and mineral royalty tax returns.
    • Attend to income tax and mineral royalty tax queries from SARS.
    • Act as operational client contact on a portfolio of clients.
    • Management of billings, debtors and assignment budgeting.
    • Compliance with risk management procedures.
    • Expand professional network internally and externally.

    B. PERSON PROFILE

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

    • BComm with Accounting or LLB;
    • Completed SAIT or Legal articles (post articles experience will be an added advantage);
    • Post-Graduate Qualification in Tax is desirable.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 2-5 years corporate Tax experience required, specifically in the mining industry.
    • Commercial awareness and business acumen.

    • Mining Tax and Mineral Royalty Tax experience.
    • Strong research skills.
    • Ability to provide solutions to business problems – analytical skills.
    • Good client relationship management skills.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
    • Organisation and time management skills.
    • Ability to work to deadlines.
    • Pays attention to detail.
    • People management skills - Coaching and providing feedback & delegation skills.
