Job Mission / Objective
The Environmental and Social Risk Specialist (Level 2) is responsible for building the Banks impact in sustainability through ESG standards – the Environmental and Social (E&S) Performance Standards and the Corporate Governance Methodology – and to encourage the effective adoption of these standards by companies and investors across the emerging markets.
The Environmental and Social Risk Specialist works with client companies and mobilize technical and financial support to address environmental and/or social aspects of clients’ operations. The role requires oversight of key risks, stakeholders, and tasks in respect the ESS. The environmental and Social Risk Specialist is an independent risk assessor who does not have the role of managing or mitigating the risk but must have oversight, monitor, report, and advice on any risks identified
