Electrical Technologist II at Sasol

Purpose of Job

• Accountable to provide an Electrical engineering services for R&T projects in concept, basic and detailed design. Responsible to provide cost estimates for projects and to ensure quality delivery within cost and schedule commitments during FEL.

Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

• Responsible to develop Electrical SOW for engineering and construction contractors
• Squad check EC design packages (calculations, design basis, drawing's, SOW and documentation)
• Attend to construction technical queries
• Demonstrate ability to put controls in place to mitigate and manage deviations
• Provide solutions which are aligned to business unit goals and values
• Plan and meet project management objectives in technical, professional and expert areas of work
• Deliver expert solutions to meet changing business and work requirements by being able to do Electrical designs and drawings by making use of E-plan
• Apply policies, standards, procedures and methods with discression
• Extract, capture and disseminate knowledge management standards
• Review and report on the process and risk impact with regards to a portfolio of tasks
• Take corrective action when necessary with technical solution
• Ensure that work standards are met according to applicable Sasol specifications, Site procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in the MOC process and associated risk reviews.
• Develop suitable technical proposals based on practical and theoretical knowledge.
• Plan and safely execute work according to work instructions, quality requirements, deadlines, budget and schedules under no supervision.
• Efficient & effective use of resources to ensure objectives are achieved and work delivered on time, in scope and within budget.
• Able to work on multiple tasks and/or requests with different priorities.
• Manage complex schedules and communicate possible delays in meeting deadlines.
• Service provider management
• Understanding of supply chain and procurement procedures

Formal Education

• T4 or B.Tech Electrical 
• Extensive knowledge of R&T equipment and processes (strong wish)
