Job Advert Summary    

• An opportunity has arisen for a Driver Trainer responsible for presenting prescribed in-house training courses for lower skilled employees and monitors results of same. Conducts training sessions covering specified areas such as new employee orientation, on-the-job training, use of computers and software, apprenticeship programs, customer service, sales techniques, health and safety practices, public relations, refresher training, promotional development, upgrading, retraining displaced workers and leadership development. 

Minimum Requirements    

• Matric or equivalent
• Must be a qualified TETA Facilitator and Assessor
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience as a driver
• Must have at least 6 years’ experience as a driver trainer
• Must have knowledge of the National Road Traffic Act and audit
• Certificates in 1st Aid and Firefighting will be an advantage
• Certificates for Operate a vehicle combination and Dangerous Goods are essential

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Liaise with Contract Managers to understand driver profiles through measurement tools
• Maintain driver files for contract on learner management system
• Ensure accurate and timeous capturing of data onto the system

Administrative duties

• Screen potential drivers for pre-employment
• Coach drivers to improve performance though Drive cam coaching, remedial training and remedial in-cab training
• Schedule and execute training in line with company, client and academy theory standards
• Conduct in cab assessments, job observations, site inspections and route risk assessments as per company or client requirements
