    Digital Engineering Manager

    Role Overview:  

    We are looking for a methodical and process-driven leader to enhance our digital delivery. You will collaborate with clients and business leads across the globe, product owners, engineering team and quality assurance testers to achieve exceptional project outcomes. You will oversee digital delivery, manage releases, deployments, and lead a diverse team of engineers and QA testers across multiple locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent technical team leadership skills, and experience working in a digital delivery environment.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse development team.
    • Conduct regular 121s, performance reviews and provide feedback to your direct reports.
    • Work with the Director of Digital Delivery and Product owner/s to build project plans, scope projects, manage change-control procedures, and ensure budget adherence.
    • Monitor and communicate project milestones and timelines internally and externally.
    • Oversee day-to-day delivery processes and assign daily tasks to the engineers, QA and customers, mitigating risks as they arise and ensuring milestone achievement.
    • Work with the Technical Lead Developer to oversee the technical design and architecture of projects and our codebase.
    • Ensure the development team adheres to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes.
    • Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to team members.
    • Chair technical team meetings, technical client meetings and Architecture review forums to improve technology.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between the development team and other departments or stakeholders.
    • Report on project status, team performance, and key metrics to senior management.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and quality.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the team is utilizing the best tools and practices.
    • Recruit and train exceptional employees to fulfil posted positions within the Digital team.
    • Ensure the team has the necessary resources and training to complete their tasks effectively.
    • Update and maintain all processes, technologies and documentation ensuring proper maintenance and development

    Requirements

    Qualifications and experience:

    • At least 5 years of experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role.
    • Experience in a modern software development environment.
    • Strong understanding of SDLC and agile methodologies.
    • Demonstrated understanding of project management processes and strategies.
    • Experience mentoring and developing technical talent, particularly engineers and QA testers.
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Strong sense of personal accountability in decision-making and supervising teams.
    • Experience promoting a teamwork mentality in a high-level collaborative environment.
    • Familiarity with project management tools like Wrike, Jira, and Microsoft Office.
    • Working knowledge of digital technologies such as Umbraco, AngularJS, React, CSS, HTML.
    • Transactional digital (eCommerce) experience is essential; experience with high-volume digital projects is a plus.
    • Knowledge of the cinema exhibition industry is helpful but not required.

    Nice-to-have's

    • Experience with Umbraco (or similar) CMS, eCommerce, Azure/AWS, and Visual Studio IDE.
    • Experience or proficient understanding of coding languages such as HTML5, CSS3, vanilla JS, React, ES6, SASS, WebPack, BEM.
    • Experience or proficient understanding of cloud/microservices/SaaS, API integration, containerization with Docker & Kubernetes.
    • Proficient understanding of DevOps/deployment/virtualization experience.
    • Excellence in agile methodologies.
