Developer - Musina at Murray & Roberts

Introduction

• Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Developer to be placed in Venetia, near Musina. The successful candidate will report to the Shift Supervisor Mining. The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents.

Job description
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to:

• Effective supervision of an underground crew of operators
• Effective planning, control and organising of crew and machinery to meet daily targets
• Safe and effective blasting operations in line with legal appointment (Mine Health and Safety Act)
• Effective stakeholder engagement to ensure smooth workflows and machine availability to meet production targets
• Effective self and team management in alignment with M&RC values and leadership initiatives
• Self and team comply with M&RC and client’s standard, policies, procedures and safety protocols.

Minimum requirements
Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12
• Blasting Certificate
• Competency B and C
• Sound verbal and written communication skills in English

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in a trackless mechanised underground mining environment
• Experience in mining development, mining large excavations
• Experience leading and supervising an underground crew of operators.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanized development operations
