An opportunity has become available for a Dispatch Supervisor to take full responsibility for the overall function of the dispatch operation. The role involves planning, coordinating, and managing daily operations within the department to ensure that work is performed effectively and tasks are executed timely and efficiently.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12
• Tertiary qualification in Logistics/Transportation Management or currently studying towards one
• Operational experience
• Strong administrative skills
• 2 years of experience in the transport industry in a supervisory position
• Ability to operate all types of trucks
• Hands-on involvement in all areas of the business
• Problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills on all levels
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Own reliable transport to and from work
• Valid driver’s license
• Computer literate (MS Office and Outlook)

Duties & Responsibilities

Supporting and assisting Management with:

• Handling administrative tasks and supervising and controlling driver activities
• Briefing and debriefing drivers (loading and offloading)
• Scheduling loads
• Analyzing tacho and trip sheets, dispatching vehicles, monitoring progress, and utilization
• Conducting weekly and monthly stock counts
• Supervising the loading and offloading of trucks
• Receiving stock from production for storage
• Managing Chep pallet control
• Using Syspro/Translution (system work for invoicing, SCT, batching, stock monitoring, etc.)
• Weekend and overtime work as required
