Depot Planner at Alstom

The role reports to the Depot Manager.

Requirements:

• B Tech Degree or National Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Production Management
• 2 or more years’ experience in process management supervision
• 2 or more work experience in a process/production environment
• Railways and train system instruction/knowledge is preferred
• Maintenance process and operations knowledge is required
• GSI/SAP (CS/PM modules)
• Ability to make decisions, sense of urgency, sets priorities and reacts immediately when confronted with a problem
• Communicating with transparency, delivers clear messages, listen to others, ensure the right approach depending on different stakeholders such as customers, team members, colleagues, superiors and supplier

Responsibilities

• Planning, scheduling and giving maximum priority to depot maintenance activities
• Updating and Reporting on all depot maintenance activities status using relevant planning tools (GSI, Qlickview, excel Planning sheets, etc)
• Manage the whiteboards in the workshop of the maintenance slots scheduled during the planning meetings
• Ensuring that all updated planning information is spread out within workshop in real time mode
• Supervision/coordination of maintenance activities on all trains in workshop according to fixed time slots during planning meetings. Control and minimize ADHoCs
• Attend and lead at the planning meetings (Daily 7:45 mandatory and 15:30)
• Weekly and Monthly reporting of plan vs actuals for both Gibela’s and PRASA’s scope (Operations Say-Do KPIs)
• Creation, Releasing and sharing of Preventive maintenance Service Orders with all relevant stakeholders
• Reporting all cumulated delays and root cause of them. Analyzing delaying issues to better perform in similar future circumstances
• Verification of compliance with time slots planned for all preventive maintenance (hand over/ hand back, maintenance, pre-service check and hand over out)
• Overview visibility crucial spare parts availability. Interfacing with Supply Chain team (using meetings and SAP system) to check needed spare parts to be available
• Must have visibility of workshop infrastructure status, especially about needed special tool to carry maintenance activity.
• Track and escalate production and commercial service issue to the depot manager
• Using Indus evaluation KPI to check and optimize Prod workload on shift, according to planning scheduled
