Description

Responsibilities:

Database Platform Management:

• Manage the company’s data platform, including design, operation, security and documentation.
• Train and assist users and liaise with 3rd party suppliers.
• Monitor and optimize performance and troubleshoot errors.

Data Platform (Database & BI) Administration & Analysis:

• Analyse requests for functionality and implement them in the database.
• Check and manage the database space and roll-back requirements.
• Ensure data integrity and availability.
• Manage and monitor Power BI settings, permissions, licensing, and activities.
• Perform SQL Server and Power BI tuning and testing.
• Support, maintain, administer and monitor: 1) Microsoft On-Premises and Azure Cloud Stack 2) Microsoft On-Premises and Azure Cloud Stack 3) Azure Synapse Analytics & Data Factory 4) Microsoft Fabric 5) Microsoft SQL Server, Integration Services, Reporting Services, Azure SQL Database 6) Microsoft Power Platform – Power Automate, Flow 7) SQL Monitoring Tools, and ITIL Helpdesk Software.
• Work as part of the IT Team aligned with best practices and industry standards.

Provision of Support:

• Receive and analyse requests for support and log them.
• Diagnose and solve problems or escalate them to the appropriate person.
• Test and implement solutions and monitor their functionality.
• Document solutions and submit them to the relevant role players.

Requirements

• National Senior Certificate or equivalent
• NQF Level 7 Qualification in Computer Science/Information and Communication Technology alternative NQF 7 qualifications may include BCom (Informatics/Information Systems) or BIT (Information Systems) or BSc (Computer Science/Information Systems) or BEng (Computer Engineering) or equivalent
• 1 years proven experience in Database Development, Administration and Development
• Knowledge of Microsoft On-Premises and Azure Cloud Stack, Azure Synapse Analytics & Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Data Platform (Database) Management & Design (SQL Server & TSQL), Microsoft Power Platform – Power Automate, Flow Hands-on Cloud Data Solutions Design and Implementation (Azure), Microsoft Power BI (DAX, M-Query & Power Query), SQL Monitoring Tools, and ITIL Helpdesk Software, Data Analysis & Visualisation
