    Data Governance Lead

    Job Description & Summary

    Data Governance Role 

    • The evolution of data, sharing data economy, ever changing regulatory environment and privacy compliance is driving the need for Data Governance like never before.
    • Overall, the Data Governance Lead is a critical role that helps organisations ensure that their data assets are effectively managed and governed to meet regulatory requirements, industry standards, and organisational objectives.  The role requires a deep understanding of data governance best practices, as well as excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Design and implement Data Governance Strategy
    • Design and implement data governance operating blueprint.
    • Define and implement the organization's data governance strategy, policies, and procedures.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to establish data quality and data management standards and practices.
    • Develop  a data governance framework that encompasses data quality, data privacy, and data security.
    • Establish data governance policies and procedures across the organization.
    • Design and implement data quality checks, data lineage, and data cataloging and data dictionary processes.
    • Design data governance activities and metrics.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including data privacy laws.
    • Design and implement Data Migration Strategy.
    • Design and implement Master Data Management
    • Design and implement Data Governance Tooling.
    • Work with IT teams to implement data governance tools and technologies.
    • Develop and deliver data governance training and awareness programs.
    • Provide guidance and support on data governance related issues.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelors in Information Science, Accounting or similar degree.
    • Experience in Leading Data Governance Capability and implementing data governance best practices.
    • 5 Years plus experience in leading high performance teams (multi disciplinary)
    • Extensive experience in leading data migrations.
    • Ability to work in a face past environment.
    • Experience leading data initiatives in projects.
    • Strong analytical skills.
    • Strong  communication and presentation skills. 
    • Proven track record of influencing executives.
