    Data Analyst / Architect

    About the job

    • An opportunity exists for a data specialist to join the team in our IT department at the N1 City HQ. We seek a professional with a high level of ethics and integrity who displays a proven track record of alignment with the PathCare values.


    Responsibilities:

    • Analyse the data architecture for new and existing software application platforms
    • Define data standards and/or reference architectures for use by project teams in developing technical designs
    • Define and implement data governance across multiple project teams or systems
    • Assess industry standards for information models and translate them into improvements in the company’s software development framework
    • Deliver well-defined data design documentation and data models that guide, inform and assist project software development and implementation teams
    • Leverage proven experience to deliver innovative, scalable and reliable solutions
    • Work closely with business and technical teams to establish and validate data requirements
    • Work collaboratively with and across development and implementation teams to align and document data architecture and management
    • Define and develop a data migration or bridging strategy, plan and algorithms for existing systems that need to migrate to next generation application software platforms
    • Data quality improvement initiatives
    • Map information flows
    • Implement data governance to comply with the POPI Act

    Required Qualifications, Skillsets and Abilities:

    • An applicable tertiary qualification, preferably degree(s) and relevant certifications
    • Solid experience working in technical data specialist role(s)
    • Analytical thinker, able to understand how data relates to operations and the effect of process changes on data quality and requirements
    • Ability to translate business needs into data architecture requirements
    • Ability to maximise data assets by reducing redundancy, enabling accessibility within security and confidentiality boundaries, fostering corporate understanding of the meaning of the data (meta data management)
    • Ability to serve as the liaison between business users and different IT teams
    • Ability to develop and implement standards for naming, describing, governing, managing, modelling, storing, cleansing, transforming, searching and delivering data
    • Experience in data integration, migration and data conversions
    • Excellent skills in data management, data manipulation, data modelling, data services, reporting and analytics as well as the tools used to support these areas
    • Excellent interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills required
    • Attention to detail and appreciation for consistency
    • Recommended experience in the healthcare environment
