Duties/Pligte

• Cleaning, merging and preparing data from various sources and formats for analysis;
• Analysing and exploring data;
• Conducting statistical analysis;
• Analysing and visualising data;
• Producing reports and dashboards;
• Actively participating in collaboration with international groups;
• Writing reports and communicating results.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes

• Master's degree in Statistics, or Data Science, or Epidemiology;
• Competence in removing corrupted data and fixing coding errors and related problems;
• The ability to develop and maintain large and complex databases, data systems and reorganising data in a readable format;
• Experience in preparing data for meta-analysis;
• Excellent skills in data management systems such as MSSQL and MySQL;
• Excellent skills in SQL script writing;
• Excellent computer literacy with statistical programmes such as Stata or R;
• Demonstrated writing and verbal communication skills;
• Sound interpersonal skills;
• Willingness to work flexible hours;
• Sensitivity to cultural differences;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English;
• Excellent computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
• The ability to work both independently and in a team;
• The ability to solve problems independently and effectively;
• The ability to develop and maintain sound working relationships among project staff.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling

• PhD in Data Science or Epidemiology;
• Academic research experience or comparable professional experience, including a publication record of scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals;
• Experience in working with local and international researchers and research partners;
• Experience in Microsoft Power Platform, Power BI, PowerApps, Power Automate, etc., will be advantageous;
• Experience in using Python.
