    Our Converged Security Office prides itself in its unique structure that sees an integrated, converged model between our Information Risk, Cyber, Resilience, Physical Security & Forensics teams to ensure effective risk management across all disciplines.  It also carries the responsibility of owning, operationally supporting and maintaining specialist security services to safeguard the confidentiality, integrity and availability of infrastructure and information to our customers in order to meet industry and regulatory requirements and good practice.

    You will be tasked to deliver that examination capability through the utilisation of specialised skill sets to ensure proper identification, collection, processing, examination and reporting on pertinent digital evidence for regulatory, civil, criminal, and misconduct matters.

    In addition, it will involve playing a supporting role to Cyber Forensic Specialists within the team who carry responsibility for investigations arising from the underlying data recovery conducted by the Cyber Forensic Advisor.

     

    What you’ll get to do:

    The role is within the Cyber Forensics Investigations team and your responsibilities will include the following:

    • Identify and collect pertinent data held throughout the enterprise
    • Perform the execution of technical cyber forensics data retrievals and complex examinations
    • Conduct data retrieval and presentation through analysis and examination Ensure strict ethical standards are adhered to in the execution of duties to ensure chain of custody protocols
    • Respond rapidly to requirements to gather electronic data in line with a 24/7 mind-set.
    • Identify effective, efficient and innovative means of gathering electronic evidence from Absa operations across Africa
    • Conduct expert technical and forensic examinations of machines and data in line with legal direction
    • Utilise leading edge techniques and tools to recover and present electronic evidence from mobile devices
    • Ensure all actions taken in an investigation are compliant with industry leading best practices for ensuring suitability for use in a court of law
    • Ensure that all data collected and examined within a case is appropriately handled, stored, deleted and tagged to protect personal and corporate entitlements and comply with local laws
    • Provide technical support to the Cyber Forensics Investigators
    • Report on progress of examinations and findings to a range of key stakeholders
    • Maintain an effective network of relationships with individuals across the Group

     

    What do you need to get in?

    • Tertiary education in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
    • Related professional certifications such as GCFE, GCFA, GCIH, EnCe
    • Experience within a similar environment is highly desirable
    • Demonstrated and documented skills in the field of digitals forensics & cyber incidence response
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Digital forensics
    • Knowledge of Windows, MacOS & Linux Operating Systems
    • Collaboration skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to lead multi-functional initiatives
    • Experience of corporate security investigations or fraud investigations
    • Extraordinary analytical and investigative abilities with hands-on experience leading root cause analysis
    • Experience with disk and memory forensic tools, enterprise log collection and analysis platforms, and triaging malware
    • Demonstrated skills and experience in computer forensic tools and technology, such as
      • AccessData Forensic Tool Kit, EnCase, Magnet Axiom, BlackLight, Nuix, Oxygen Mobile Forensics, UFED Cellebrite
    • Report writing skills and attention to detail
