    Credit Risk Specialist

    Purpose of the Job

    To assess and manage the risk profile of EPL and its subsidiaries thereby minimizing bad debts and controlling the overall credit risk to the company and to monitor and report on global and local credit risk trends

    Who You Are:

    What you’ll have done before:

    Baseline:

    • NQF Level 6 (Financial Accounting Diploma)
    • 5 Years’ experience in Commercial Credit Risk Management

    Advantageous:

    • NQF Level 7 Degree in Credit Management/Accounting
    • Previous Credit Risk Analysis experience in oil and gas industry

    Exciting Challenges you might face in the role:

    • Applying your knowledge of financial analysis to new customer applications to determine the most appropriate credit limit and advise on the financial risks
    • Performing credit risk assessments to enable the business to drive sales
    • Operate effectively, even when things are not certain, or the way forward is not clear
    • Engaging with the trade credit insurer to enable Engen to mitigate its credit risk
    • Involvement in the retail dealer onboarding process including attending and participating in dealer interviews

    What you’ll be doing:

    • Proactively engaging customers to obtain financial information to improve the Engen credit risk position and recommendations
    • Building and leveraging relationships with sales colleagues across different business streams
    • Ensuring that risk assessments are completed timeously and provides the credit and sales teams with appropriate recommendations to enable the business to make decisions in a timely manner
    • Researching the RSA economic environment to advise the business divisions on specific sector risks
