    Cost Controller

    About this role:

    • The Cost Controller is responsible for keeping track of all project-related costs and ensuring that the financial side of the project runs smoothly. They develop and maintain records of planned and actual costs, ensuring that everything aligns with the project’s budget. This includes creating and updating schedules that reflect the time and money spent on various tasks, making sure that all financial commitments are recorded accurately, and following up on any payments that need to be made or received.
    • Their tasks involve working closely with the project manager and other team members to update budget forecasts and ensure that all costs are captured correctly. The Cost Controller also manages the process of coding and recording financial data, generating reports, and ensuring that all expenses are properly allocated. They handle the flow of financial information, from capturing orders and payments to managing cash flow templates, and make sure all necessary documentation is in order. Additionally, they understand how to manage the overall project budget, work with asset registers, and ensure that everything is accounted for correctly within the project’s financial framework.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in finance or Business-related discipline
    • MS Excel advanced skills

    Experience

    • 5 years or more experience in a similar role within the multi-disciplinary EPCM environment essential

    Knowledge Areas

    • Worked within and EPCM/Mining environment
    • Knowledge of specific department i.e.: Projects, Project Controls etc
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO14001 & OHSAS 18001
    • Sound technical knowledge in a multi-discipline environment
    • Good knowledge of budgeting, forecasting final costs, cash flows and estimating
    • Working knowledge of estimating and tendering processes
    • Good knowledge of project management principles
    • General knowledge of procurement, contracts, quantity surveying, planning, scheduling and engineering processes and procedures
