    Corporate Finance Trainee

    We have vacancies for a Corporate Finance Trainee at our Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) Office.

    The Corporate Finance Trainee will assist the Corporate Finance team in delivering quality Corporate Finance services while supporting the audit stream. The Corporate Finance Trainee will be responsible for the following key activities to achieve the main objectives:

    • Continuously adding value.
    • Being an excellent presenter.

    Requirements:

    • Contribute to professional and collaborative client relationships with BDO UK.
    • Maintain active communication with managers, partners, and clients to manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction.
    • Proactively identify, document, and communicate any changes to the scope of work.
    • Conduct research to substantiate valuation inputs and assumptions as provided by the audit or external clients.
    • Support Corporate Finance Executives with appropriate research and liaise with other parties in the firm to provide research input on valuation specialist matters.
    • Perform the legwork on financial models, including checking for consistency and accuracy of assumptions provided by clients.
    • Research audit and accounting rules applicable to scenarios.

    Qualifications:

    • B.Com in Economics or Statistics.
    • Recent University graduate.

    • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with internal and external clients, ensuring a professional and quality service that meets expectations and needs.
    • Clear interest in a broad range of business, strategy, and finance topics.
    • Up-to-date with market conditions and developments.
    • Excellent communication and report writing skills.

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet internal reporting deadlines.
    • Strong commitment to excellence and personal and professional growth.

    • Ability to prepare and present detailed reports with appropriate levels of literacy.
