Control Room Co-Ordinator – REF: JW390EX/2024 at Johannesburg Water

PURPOSE

• Oversee and coordinate the JW Control Room Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the delivery of control room services and ensure that operational KPIs are met.
• Coordinate with shift supervisors to confirm site coverage.
• Oversee the effective management of guard monitoring, base radio communication, alarm monitoring, and CCTV systems.
• Report and escalate incidents immediately to management, JMPD, and SAPS.
• Submit incident reports within 24 hours and maintain records in accordance with SOPs.
• Serve as the key decision-maker for security operations during both routine and emergency situations.
• Ensure staff use of systems is efficient and correct.
• Ensure operating systems are functional, troubleshoot issues, and arrange for corrective actions to mitigate risks to JW sites.
• Coordinate the training, development, and recruitment of control room staff.
• Conduct and oversee staff appraisals, encouraging further development.
• Develop and implement the control room operations manual supporting all JW security-related operations and review as needed.
• Act as deputy for the Security Operations Manager when required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Essential Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12
• Certificate (NQF 4) in Security Management/Policing
• Driver’s License Code 08 (B)
• PSIRA Grade B
• 5 years of experience in Security Management, with at least 3 years in Control Room supervision
